Hodes Global News: SEPTEMBER 2008 | VOLUME 5 EDITION 1

    front page Hodes Global News

In this issue we touch on just a few of the many new and exciting recruiting innovations that have not only taken our industry by storm, but have truly become part of our everyday lives.

As communicating online has become as natural as pouring our morning cup of coffee, people have begun to bring their workplace experiences-both aspirational as well as experienced-out of the cubicles and into the interactive limelight. From Advice A/S in Denmark, employer brand guru Rolf Lodberg offers up some sound tips to employers on managing the next generation’s expectations in this new open digital landscape. And with blogging communities springing up daily (Facebook alone grew a whopping 305% in the last year), Hodes U.S. strategist Mark Hornung advises us all in his thoughtful article on the Social Media blitz: employer take heed. While in the Netherlands, Onno Gout at ACS/JES Communicatie illustrates a relationship marketing solution for Rabobank that successfully used new digital calling technology to drive in hires and set their brand apart from the competition. Finally, one of our own, Renee Afshar, illustrates first-hand how Hodes, like other global companies, is discovering how easily talent threads together across both borders and oceans, as she relates her own personal story of moving from Hodes U.S.’s Atlanta office to Adcorp in Australia.

I hope you enjoy and benefit from the examples we set forth. As we have done for over three decades, Hodes continues to search for new solutions to your hiring needs while keeping an experienced ear to the ground and, I would imagine for some time to come, a close watch on the ever increasing social media sites and soundbites that are impacting our lives and our perceptions of employers and employees alike.
